The CL51 model is designed for high-range, cirrus cloud height profiling that also includes detailed data on low and middle layer clouds as well as vertical visibility. It can deliver highly accurate data on multiple cloud layers even when conditions limit physical visibility.

Advanced single-lens optics and processing provides better performance over dual-lens systems. It uses pulsed diode lidar for reliable operation and long life expectancy. It can provide full backscatter profiling with detailed accuracy and reliability in all weather conditions up to 15km. In this case is used for PBLH (Planetary boundary layer height) measurement.
